Second-hand shops: Vintage Garden!

Hellohello!
I'm back and I have a zillion things to tell you!!

First will definitely be a good reason to take the train to Tampere and visit a small piece of heaven:

Vintage Garden!!

Like all my favourites, this one too has a special thing to it, beautiful jewellery, interior, service, clothes, everything!
The owner was so sweet, she happened to be there just then, and I could've actually stayed and shared thoughts half a day!
Many times I've said the same thing about vintage, that it's a way of life rather than anything else, and in this beautiful Garden you'll experience it, once again.
I have a huge respect for young women who establish their own businesses believing in themselves and having faith in the concept, giving the rest of us a chance to dream away in the middle of a Monday, or a Tuesday or when ever!

Vintage Garden is definitely a place to go, you'll leave the place humming!!

Otavalankatu 3
Tampere

Oooh...!

I bought myself a pair of earrings, beautiful goldies!

And the thing I appreciate a lot is the packing: a very stylish, 20's inspired silk paper, and a cute paper bag with the logo, very art deco. Just perfect!

Tampere!!

What a sweet couple of days we had in the city of Tampere!
Husband had his share of summer work over there so I joined him!
We stayed at the prestigious Grand Hotel Tammer, we actually upgraded ourselves into a suite since it was available..!! Had our own sauna and a huge balcony overlooking Tammerkoski and Hämeenkatu-bridge, luxurious!

I have a special thing about this city, I used to work and live there for six months, a short but significant period of time in my life. I lived right in the center and completely fell in love with the atmosphere: the theatres, museums, factories, the working class-history. I bought books from Tampere-seura and walked around with them so I could keep track which building was which and who designed what!
I'd look for Lauri Viita's house in Pispala, Wivi Lönn's architecture and fall in love with Näsilinna!
I did get some work done as well, haha, but I was so infatuated with everything I experienced there, it scarred me for life!
Every now and then I go back, and walk the same streets as I always did, it does me good, every time!!

Flea market goodies!

While sitting on a train taking me to Tampere, there's a perfect moment to present to you what else I found from my nostalgic flea market visit!

Black leather sandals!
These are cool! And never been worn either, the tags were still attached!
I've been hunting sandals like these on/off for the whole summer, and now I found them!

I also bought a beautiful vintage velvet hat in dark blue, a turban-like creation, let's see what comes from that, plus a pretty, black, lacey, 20's inspired scarf with fringes!
I got all exited and super glad!
Love flea markets!!

Happy Monday to all of you, dear friends!

Nostalgia!

Now that the Tall Ship's Race's have taken over Hietalahdentori, I was so pleased to walk only a few blocks to Kansalaistori for a flea market-Saturday!

And oh, how I suddenly started feeling a huge longing back to the years I spent studying and living only a stone's throw away from the old Makasiinit, where I always went during weekends to make finds in the legendary flea market!
The scenery was suddenly the same, you could see the Parliament House, and a little bit of that old tile wall that looks so sad now, when they don't know what to do with it!
Oh, memories! Sweet memories!
I was thinking how young I was then, but equally happy and somehow equally "me", as I feel now.
I could recognize myself, and that gave me a little comfort!
Life is sweet, most of the times, I feel gratitude over it.

Have a beautiful weekend, my dears!

I stopped to have lunch at the Musiikkitalo terrace, such a good salad! You can choose the fillings, and they sprinkle pumpkin seeds and nuts on top if you wish! I was really positively surprised, it was good!

Plus something small I found: old sheet music of La Cumparsita, that'll make a beautiful picture on the wall, plus a necklace! My ghetto gold-phase is still going strong, I can see!

Places to go!

During this past week I've been enjoying our sweet city of Helsinki in many ways! You can find these oasis-like places in the middle of the city and just enjoy the atmosphere.
Whether you're at work or on holiday, a lunch brake or a cup of tea is always in order!

Korjaamo, Töölönkatu 51

A perfect getaway!
As the poster says: a garden in the middle of the city!
You can choose between their own lunch and the delicious sushis of Sushi Bar & Wine, check out the exhibition and the books and cards in the shop, or just sigh after the cool Eames chairs inside!

Hietalahti Market Hall

I'm puzzled: there's no double consonant in the word kanttarelli, is there?! Kantarelli, I'd say!
Anyway they look delicious even though I'm not a big fan of mushrooms!

FAFA'S, Iso Roba 2

This small place offers the best falafel in Helsinki!!
Love the hummus and the tzatziki, the halloumi and the eggplants, oijoijoi! It's quite popular so take patience with you during their rush ours!
Great food!

Summer style!

Here's one of my favourite summer dresses:

From the IvanaHelsinki S/S 2011 Where The F*** Is My Sailor-line

I remember when I bought it two years ago: I was with my sister, about to leave to Berlin with my Mother, and we went to the store. I was already standing at the counter with the dress when I spotted this silk scarf with the same design!
Well, I just couldn't leave the place without it!
Since then the scarf has turned out to be one of the most versatile accessories ever!
Sometimes I wear it in my neck, in these pics it's in my head, you can tie it in your bag or wrist...so many options! And every single one of them combines it together with the dress itself!
But the most funny and curious thing is that the dress is made out of terry cloth!
Mixing 100% silk with terry cloth makes the edgiest union in my wardrobe, and I love it!

Beauty issues!

When getting some colour in the sun, my make-up routine changes.
During winter, not being a big fan of powder, I usually only wear BB-cream on my face, but once I've catched a few rays, this light, shimmery and sparkly product takes over:

Guerlain Météorites.

I just love the illuminating feel! Makes you feel radiant!
After that I just add Clarins Eclat Minute, Instant Light Lip Perfector, a dreamy lip gloss, and I'm ready to go!
I use shade no.03 Nude.
It's got similar effects to the Guerlain plus a delicious scent!

With a waterproof mascara the look isn't too heavy at all, giving my complexion the good glow that lasts!
